With recent cool weather it’s easy to forget that we’ve already had a 90-degree day in Greene County and that summer will soon come to stay.
Staff at the Jefferson park and recreation department hasn’t forgotten. They’ve forged ahead getting the pool ready to open, with new filters installed and lifeguards fully trained.
The Jefferson municipal pool will open for its 77th season Monday, May 26. Hours for the pool are:
Monday, May 26 (normal summer hours): Lap swim, 11:30 am to 1 pm; open swim 1 to 5:30 pm and 6:30 to 8 pm; and Family Hour 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, May 27-29: Open swim, 4 to 8 pm.
Beginning May 30 the pool will be open normal summer hours.
Season pool passes are currently available at the Greene County Community Center. Jefferson park and recreation director Vicky Lautner encourages all residents to take advantage of the pool. “We are excited to have the pool open and to start creating another year of memories!” she said.
